An edge AI phenotyping appliance combining RGB and depth imaging with task-specific AI inference.
AI PHENOTYPING & BREEDING SYSTEMS
We connect edge imaging, drone analytics, computer vision, and genomic prediction to turn plant data into repeatable measurements and decision-ready evidence.
Our products connect field data capture, model development, trait extraction, and breeding decisions in repeatable workflows.

An edge AI phenotyping appliance combining RGB and depth imaging with task-specific AI inference.

A drone phenotyping workflow platform for GPU-accelerated processing from drone imagery to geospatial and plot-level crop traits.

Quantomics contributes phenotyping, image AI, genomic prediction, and breeding-decision technologies to the smart breed™ consortium.
We use large vision models as teachers, build compact crop- and trait-specific models, and deploy them through field measurement and analysis workflows.
Acquire data from QuEye, drones, and sensors with standardized imaging conditions and sample identities.
Combine foundation-model labeling, human review, and task-specific model training and evaluation.
Extract individual- and plot-level traits through detection, segmentation, and 3D analysis.
Connect phenotypes with environmental, genomic, pedigree, and existing trial data for comparison, selection, and next-trial design.

Theme B: Demonstration of smart breeding projects to strengthen variety development capabilities
As the need for plant breeding increases amid climate change and global food crises, breeding has often been regarded as an art, with the creation of new varieties relying heavily on the craftsmanship of breeders. This project aims to develop smart breed™, an integrated breeding platform connected through APIs, to transform intuition into objectivity and elevate human expertise into system intelligence. Since breeding inherently involves large-scale genetic experimentation, the project also envisions contributing its outcomes back to academic research as scientific knowledge.
Quantomics contributes phenotyping, image AI, genomic prediction, and breeding-decision technologies to the smart breed™ consortium.
Building a sustainable and prosperous future through data-driven breeding and agriculture.
To achieve a sustainable and prosperous society, we need a new form of breeding and agriculture that fully unlocks the potential of plants. The key lies in a data-driven approach that integrates life science with digital technology. By scientifically analyzing vast amounts of phenotypic and genomic data, we enable precise decision-making and efficient breeding, creating new models of breeding and agriculture that lead us toward a sustainable and prosperous future.
With this vision, Quantomics was founded in 2019 by members of the Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences at the University of Tokyo. By bringing advanced research findings and expertise in phenomics and genomic breeding into practice, we are pioneering the future of breeding and agriculture through science and data, from Japan to Asia and the world.
Professional services support product deployment, measurement design, data onboarding, and operational adoption.

Processing and analysis tailored to drone imagery, phenotypic data, genomic data, and the intended decision.
