Measurement
We measure fields, harvested material, and plant architecture using drones, imaging systems, LiDAR, and other methods.
Drone growth monitoring, genomic selection, and equipment sales for data-driven breeding and agriculture.
We start with the breeding objective and design the required measurement and analysis. Phenotypic data from fields and harvested material can be combined with genomic, environmental, pedigree, and existing trial data, then returned in a form that supports comparison, selection, and the design of the next trial.
We measure fields, harvested material, and plant architecture using drones, imaging systems, LiDAR, and other methods.
Measurements are organized into comparable data at the individual, line, plot, and time-series levels.
We apply GWAS, genomic prediction, and statistical analysis according to the objective and available data.
We organize candidate groups and the evidence for comparison, supporting follow-up measurements and the design of the next trial.
We design the measurement method and unit of analysis according to the target, trait, and trial conditions.
Using orthomosaics, DSMs, vegetation indices, and related data, we compare cover, growth, plant height, flowering and maturity timing, and rates of change across individuals, plots, and lines.
We detect individual harvested objects and measure or estimate size, outline shape, 3D shape, volume, weight, and related traits.
From drone surveys and mobile LiDAR point clouds, we analyze tree and canopy structure, including tree height and crown area.
Quantomics has experience conducting Level 3.5 flights in Japan with the required MLIT permissions and approvals. DJI Dock 3 enables scheduled remote field surveys. We design operations around site conditions, including communications and power availability.
Using drones allows large-scale and time-series acquisition of growth data. However, obtaining high-quality data requires careful pre-setup and extensive, complex image processing. We offer various support services to help your company perform drone-based measurements.
We support the acceleration of breeding through the use of genomic data. By processing large volumes of DNA marker information covering the crop genome with advanced statistical methods, it is possible to predict how each line will express traits under different environmental conditions. We provide comprehensive breeding support tailored to the crop species and breeding plan.
In crossbreeding, we offer analytical results covering the calculation of required population size, selection of parent lines, and evaluation of F1 cross results. Upon request, we can also perform genome sequencing to support the implementation of genomic selection. This enables efficient breeding for quantitative traits in fewer years and can be combined with generation-acceleration technologies.
By combining phenotypic data from a small number of cultivated lines with existing genomic data, we can predict the phenotypes of remaining lines. This supports efficient selection within a smaller test field and a shorter testing period.

We handle dealer sales of phenotyping tools developed by Quantomics, as well as drones and other equipment. Based on your data analysis needs, we can recommend suitable equipment. Please contact us for details.
